The Central Association of Sanitary Heating Klima (ZVSHK) has awarded the winners of its product competition "Bathroom comfort for generations" at the ISH world. A six-member jury of experts – including the former Mayor of Bremen Henning Scherf, but also representatives from architecture, design, planning and craft – selected five award-winning products in the jury session from 28 nominated products.
For the sixth time since 2013, the award was handed over at the ISH, where winners, jury members and representatives of the Central Association met at the ZVSHK stand. The jury chair Mathias Knigge (Chairman of EDAD – Design for All), together with other representatives, handed over the coveted Trophae and certificate of the ZVSHK awards to the representatives of the five companies as the winner of the competition:
BetteAntirutsch Sense is a new type of surface treatment for maximum slip resistance with very special properties: The anti-slip effect on glazed titanium steel only occurs when the pressure of the body weight and water come together. The protective, anti-slip effect therefore occurs exactly when it is needed, i.e. when the standing surface of the bathtub or shower or the feet are wet and soapy. The jury was particularly convinced that no additional slip resistance is needed when the surface is dry and the feet are dry, as the adhesion is high enough here.
Time and costs are an issue for young and old when renovating the bathroom. With the wedi Sanwell shower wall module, it is possible to implement renovation measures quickly, as the module can be used in a wide variety of room concepts as a rear wall installation or as a free-standing partition.
The advantage: the module only has to be set up and connected without losing individuality. Various parameters can already be configured according to the customer's wishes when the order is placed. All water pipes and connections as well as the Hansgrohe iBox are integrated at the factory. The jury was impressed by the high practical quality, ease of installation and cost-effective options for individual configuration. This means that bathrooms suitable for older people can be realised much more quickly.
Can also be used as a design element in the room.
This solution offers the greatest possible flexibility both to people who need assistance and to people without limitations. Not only do the doors leave a correspondingly wide entry area when opened, the doors that are not needed can be folded against the wall to save space. This means that the shower can also be used in small bathrooms. The jury was particularly impressed by the two horizontally divided hinged-folding doors. This means that the shower can be opened either completely or only in the upper area, depending on requirements. The height of the lower door is 900 mm and enables the accompanying person to provide assistance while showering.
Feeling comfortable is a highly individual matter: even when it comes to triggering the WC flush, there are different needs that can vary depending on one's life situation or preferences. The jury was convinced by the fact that it is possible for people with limited mobility to operate the WC from the side of the wall without electricity and over a distance of 1.7m. The TECEflushpoint remote toilet push plate can be used on any TECE universal cistern and positioned in architecturally interesting constellations.
The special variant of the HANSACARE basin mixer in combination with the compact functional shower for flexible water withdrawal provides a completely new feeling of comfort. It is extremely practical for uncomplicated body cleaning at the washbasin, e.g. for washing hair. The functional shower can also be a great support when caring for other people and is also excellently suited for filling vessels.
With many product entries from Germany and overseas, the ZVSHK Award 2023 impressively demonstrates how great the market and innovation potential is for attractive and aesthetically pleasing sanitary products. From bathroom furnishings and elements that stand out for their high-quality design to bathroom fittings and installation systems that have a particularly high level of user orientation and usability.
